Although the number of Ely Runners running in the County Championships on a wet, cold, January day in muddy conditions was quite modest, several individuals did well to achieve county championship medals, notably in some of the youngest and oldest age groups.

These were Isaac Morris (1stU11Boy), Dana Fraser (1st U11Girl), Fletcher Collins-Shirley (2ndU13Boy), Peter Harris (1stMV60) and John Turner (2ndMV70). Conditions worsened throughout the day, so those in the final Senior/Veteran Ladies race had to endure the worst of it, although the word was that all enjoyed the experience.
