Ely Runners Miranda Reynolds and Emma Greaves headed down to Ilford to take part in the Dawn Til Dusk Sunlight Ultra. The event is comprised of multiple 2k laps with a range of different distances on offer
Miranda and Emma opted for the ultra distance version and managed 34 laps each in 7h56m. The lap has quite a steep incline – which is great until you get really tired… The weather was also great until the last couple of loops.
The race was really well organised and so friendly the organisers went out their way to welcome runners and made sure they had everything they needed (even running some laps with runners to keep them company). With lots of friendly people, a great atmosphere and te bonus of having an ultra so close to home in December, this is definitely one to do again. Well worth a look at for all abilities.
There were 83 finishers.
1st – Harold Wyber 7:46:39 (45 laps),
3rd – Helen James 7:47:56 (1st female, 38 laps),
8th – Emma Greaves 7:56:03 (34 laps),
9th – Miranda Reynolds 7:56:04 (34 laps)
